Nyc Collateral design

The brief

To assist National Youth Council (NYC) in communicating their brand attributes (Dynamic, Engaging, Confident and Genuine) through the design of their collaterals. In addition, the design concepts must appeal to youths at large.


The Background

With NYC beginning its operation as an autonomous agency in 2015, the agency aims to drive youth development through its programs and initiatives. Hence, they required a team of designers to spearhead the design of their outreach collaterals, from event brandings to poster designs. This included designs for their key institutions - Outwards Bound Singapore and the Youth Corps Singapore

The Challenge/Concept

Through this project, we had to understand the different ways and tones of how OBS and YCS communicated to youths. As a result, we aimed to design collaterals that would compliment and fit the unique brand tone and identity of each institution. However, the design was also inspired by the nature and purpose of each collateral.

 

The concept of NYC EDM was inspired by the action of discussion and note taking which happens during NYC programmes. The colour palette also played a big role ensuring that the collaterals were engaging, informative and yet vibrant for youths.
