Google Trust Campagin
the brief
To create a series of engaging and fun Twitter gifs posts that raise awareness
on Google security functions and to encourage users to activate them.
The Background
Data security is becoming more important. With the usage of Google base account for almost every single thing from connecting to the Play Store and checking their Gmail, the need for increased protection for people's google accounts has skyrocketed. Hence, we were tasked by Google’s APAC Security and Trust team to create posts that would encourage Google users to activate more advanced security settings in their accounts
Ultimately the goal was to help users ensure that their accounts are better protected. Some of the functions touched on are Google’s 2 step verification, one-time passwords, etc. Throughout this project, we had to work very closely with the security team to ensure that these security functions were communicated accurately in the posts. One of our biggest challenges was to be able to ensure the posts were engaging while communicating accurate information.
Contributions
I conceptualised and created several social posts that touched on Google security function in a light-hearted
and engaging manner. With the help of the team, we came up with several animated versions for the posts.
insights
Research was utmost important in this project, as we had to really understand the inner workings and the different functions of google's security in order to accurately talk about it. The biggest challenge of this project was to communicate such a technical topic in a fun and quirky way. To solve, this we created animated stories that are quirky and eye-catching so capture the attention of readers. In addition, we leverage on cultural nuances and events such as Deepavali and the Rio Olympics to make it more relatable and relevant.
